Muro’s beaches, among the most beautiful in the world

Muro’s spectacular beaches are located along the large stretch of sand that covers the Bay of Alcúdia

The original dunes, that are covered with rich vegetation, have been preserved by installing high walkways over them and soft protection systems (pylons and ropes that contain them). The white sand and turquoise waters complete this beautiful scenery in the north of Mallorca. The winds that occasionaly blow in this area make Muro’s beaches an ideal spot for windsurfing and Kitesurf.

Since 2001 Muro’s beaches have received awards recognising the work carried out by the municipality, providing environmental care and education. Among them the Blue Flag, accrediting the excellent quality of the waters, as well as the sanitary and rescue services, the care for the environment and accessibility for peoples with disabilities. At least once every 30 days, the water is tested to make sure it is up to the highest standards. The lifeguards for their part are renowned for the excellence of their work. A large part of the Playa de Muro is virgin, no sunbeds, sunshades, etc., but there is a lifeguard presence during July and August. On top of all this, the beaches are kept clean at all times, using systems that respect the local flora and fauna.
