Es Trenc Beach , a Nudist Beach in Ses Saline, Campos.

Es Trenc is an idyllic, natural and long beach of white sand and crystalline waters surrounded by sand dunes and scrubland of pines that belongs to a protected area as a Natural Area of Special Interest declared by Balearic Government that includes the beach, the dunes and the shrubland, the salt lakes or salinas, and farmlands.

Es Trenc is located at 6,5 kilometers from Colonia de Sant Jordi in the municipality of Campos. If we have to translate the name “Es Trenc” probably the most similar word in English is “Ravine”. This name comes from the opening of the saline area that divides the coastal barrier of dunes and gossips tells that in the middle of the 18th century a tsunami came after the earthquake of Lisbon, which divided the dune cord between the open sea and the wetland…there remains.

Es Trenc is one of the most famous beaches in Mallorca and it is also the last large beach in Mallorca which is still unspoilt and well preserved and with area called “Es Salobrar de Campos” it is a protected area of 1492 hectares. Obviously Es Trenc is one of the virgin places that are most crowded during the summer weekends by local people and visitors.

Es Trenc has white, fine-grained sand, gentle slope, nudist area, and a system of dunes that separates the beach from the saline area and the agricultural land, and also a wetland with 171 species of migration and sedentary avifauna.

The water is open to south-southwest-west- and northwest and is transparent. The ground is sandy, with some stony areas and seaweed at a depth of four meters. The navigators are recommended to stay away from the beach, because there is a flagstone of half a meter which can’t be seen if the weather is bad. The best place for anchoring is the old jetty next to s’Illa Gavina (the biggest island of the municipality of Campos with a prehistoric cave used by smugglers and which can be reached from sa Barraca de sa Cenra), but if the wind blows from the west the best option is Platja d’es Coto. The nearest port facilities are located at Port Colnia de Sant Jordi, at three nautical miles.

Concerning to children, Es Trenc beach is very good for children. Fine white sand with gently slope and very shallow water.

It is considered as a Nudist Beach in a lot of beach guides and considered as it by our Government. A lot of people practicing nudism there.

We’ll guide you through the magnificent beauty of the island and show you the charming local peculiarities and you’ll be enchanted by this place!
